Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with EU countries rises nearly 23%

In the first half of 2025, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and European Union (EU) countries exceeded $10.461 billion, marking a 22.6% increase year-on-year, Report, citing the country’s State Customs Committee.

 

Exports from Azerbaijan to EU countries rose by 24.2% over the past year, reaching almost $9.039 billion, while imports from the EU grew by 13.5%, totaling nearly $1.423 billion.

 

During six months, EU countries accounted for 70.2% of Azerbaijan’s total exports and 12.3% of total imports.

 

Within the mentioned period, Azerbaijan’s highest trade volumes were recorded with Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Greece, and Spain, respectively.

 

In January-June of 2025, trade turnover between Azerbaijan, Italy reached almost $6.242 billion, including just over $5.993 billion in Azerbaijan’s exports and $248.8 million in imports. Compared to the previous year, turnover grew by 26.9%, exports by 27.5%, and imports by 15.2%.

 

Azerbaijan’s turnover with Germany for the reporting period totaled $767.3 million, with $320.3 million in exports and $447 million in imports. Year-on-year, trade grew by 9.1%, exports by 0.4%, and imports by 16.4%.

 

For 6 months, the total trade between Azerbaijan and Czech Republic amounted to $485 million. Azerbaijan’s exports stood at $450.8 million, and imports at $34.2 million. Compared to the previous year, turnover fell by 6.3%, exports by 8.4%, while imports increased by 36.7%.

 

Moreover, the country’s trade turnover with Greece hit $397.2 million, including $372.4 million in exports and $24.8 million in imports. Compared to the past year, turnover rose by 8.3%, exports by 10.6%, while imports dropped by 17.6%.

 

Additionally, Azerbaijan’s overall trade with Spain was $117.7 million, with exports of $6 million and imports of $111.7 million. Year-on-year, turnover grew marginally by 0.2%, imports surged by 65.2%, but exports declined sharply—by a 8.2 times.
